A Birthday Weekend!

As most of you know, Todd has been traveling around rural Utah during this last year working in various ERs. Trying to squeeze in some family time, the kids and I have followed him to some secluded destinations. Well, Todd was working this weekend and the next and the next, so we couldn't figure out when to have our traditional family party. Kiarra asked if we could follow Todd to Gunnison again and have a little party (just the 6 of us) at the Gunnison Rose B&B. (We stayed here once last fall.) I was all for it! The attic floor has been made over into a suite, and the owners were kind enough to put a couple of rollaways up there for us. The kids love all the low ceilings and nooks. I love the super comfy bed and the huge tub! Plus having a yummy breakfast cooked for you isn't too bad either. While Todd went back and forth to the ER during all hours of the day and night, the kids and I had a nice vacation. We ignored the rainy days and just spent our day reading, playing cards, and watching movies. We also brought the wii along. Maybe next time Todd will have time to join the fun.

Kiarra got to open her presents a day early and then we had cake and ice cream. Kiarra's sure she'll never forget her birthday at the "Pink Hotel". It just amazes me that she's eleven. She is growing so fast and is becoming such a beautiful young lady. We're very proud of her and love her so much!
The owners, Catherine and Michael Wozab, joined us for our party. They are such nice people and the inn is beautifully decorated and very clean. So... the next time you head to the Manti Pageant, consider leaving Manti by heading south for about 15 miles and staying at the Gunnison Rose. You can avoid the crazy northbound traffic and in the morning, after heading north for about 1/2 hour, you're back on I15 in Nephi. (I can't help but put in a plug for the inn). There's not much in Gunnison... a few diners and a one-screen movie theatre...oh...and the prison...but everything you NEED can be found there.
