WAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, folks, 9 1/2 years ago Todd and I decided it was time for a major career change. That decision led to 2 1/2 years of undergrad, 4 years of medical school and 3 years of residency. All of that was celebrated Friday night with Todd's residency graduation. It's hard to believe that we are FINALLY finished. (And yes, I say "we" because it's been a family journey.)

Todd won a scholarship award for "outstanding practice in early childhood immunizations" and gave a nice speech that evening.

After the program, my parents and Todd's parents surprised him with a fabulous gift. They are sending us to Kauai, Hawaii for few days NEXT WEEK! Todd's mom put together a really cute book and presented it to Todd. It was fun watching the reaction on his face...he had no idea and was completely surprised. (I already knew because I'd been consulted for schedule approval.) We appreciate all the family and friends that made the trip for the banquet and endured a long program. It meant a lot that you were there and it really made the night even more memorable. There are no words to express how proud I am of Todd. He has worked so hard to accomplish his dream. Through all of his hard work (usually 80+ hours/week), he still managed to help with the kids activities, rushing to soccer, wrestling, baseball, softball or tumbling when he could. Todd, you are an amazing husband, father and doctor! We love you!!

  3. Congratulations doesn't even seem significant to offer for all the sacrifice you've both put into this amazing sacrifice. I still remember the car ride we were on when you mentioned that Todd was thinking about doing it. And now here you are! We admire you both SO much! And look forward to hopefully seeing the both of you more.
