What's Up?!?

So it's come to my attention, by some "followers" that I've neglected the blog lately. But ya know... you're busy, I'm busy... it's gonna happen. The last few weeks seem to have flown by. Between school schedules and extra-curricular activites, including three kids' soccer schedules, we've been busy meeting with sub-contractors and trying to make more decisions. I seriously didn't think building a house was going to be this time consumming. I guess I thought I'd just sit back and watch it go up. Anyway, back to the kids. They're having a great time at school and making some fun friends. Kiarra, Sophia and Zac played soccer this fall so that filled in 4 weeknights and all Saturday morning. Kiarra gave competitive soccer a try this year and made some great friends on the team. The away games were harder to juggle in the schedule, but we managed.
This was Sophie's first year... she loved every minute. Especially being goalie. I love watching "bunch ball" They're just so dang cute!
Zac had a fantastic season... defending is his favorite, but he scored some amazing goals too!
That's Kiarra with the ref beside her. I think her favorite part of the season was doing all the crazy cheers with her teammates.Other big news this month was that Sophia lost her first tooth last week! I promised I would post a picture for Grandpa and Grandma to see. Then lastly... are some current photos of our project.

The front...notice the brick stacked and ready to go for the coming week! Yeah!
The back... they got the beginning of the deck on last week.

Yep... our first casualty. Contractors left this window in a bad location when a gust of wind swept through the house. The kids love coming over to the house, but it's turning into a death trap. We have stairs and decks without railings, open windows without screens (with piles of rocks below) and now jagged glass. Couldn't ask for a better playground. (Max has personally given me 20 heart attacks.)
The fireplace in the Great Room is framed now too. I still have hopes of moving in by Christmas and maybe finding the stockings in time to hang by the chimney with care.

  1. Looks great, having the windows in gives it a more "homey" feel. Are ya sure it was weather that broke your window and not a mad neighbor?

  3. I love the fun soccer pictures. I always think I am up to date at posting on the blog and then another couple weeks go by and then I am behind again. The pictures of the house look great also.
