Max is 4!

I should have posted this a while ago, but Happy Birthday Max! Max celebrated his 4th birthday on Monday, February 15th. It was a great day for a birthday. Because it was President's Day it made it easy to do his friend and family parties on the same day. It was the first year that he got to have a friend party and he was sooooo excited. For the past year, he's been saying he wanted to have a "Cars" birthday. But a few weeks ago, he was helping me shop for supplies, saw the Super Mario partyware, and it was all over. He loves playing Mario Kart, so we had a Mario party. Kiarra, her friend, Morgan, and Zac were great helpers.
Kiarra leads the kids through the obstacle course that she and Zac created.

Another game: "Save Yoshi's Egg"An exciting game of "Mario, Mario, Bowser" (a.k.a Duck, Duck, Goose)Worried for the sake of my new walls, we had a pull-string pinata.I know I said we weren't doing a "Cars" party. But I wasn't going to attempt to make my own Mario cake...and the store didn't have one...so "Cars" it was. If I had planned better, I would have had my friend, Kim, (a.k.a. Martha Stewart) make my cake for me. Sorry Kim, next time.Later that night we had a family party. Grandpa and Grandma Campbell came. So did Aunt Anne, Aunt Emily, Macey and Sunny. Max got some new construction vehicles, his own snuggie, and also a new fire truck. Thank You!Todd and I broke down and got Max a "boy" riding toy. The shame of driving Sophia's pink Barbie jeep was almost too much for his pride. He was so excited to get his new "four-wheeler". Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Miller for pitching in and making it possible. Because of the nasty mud outside, he's been allowed to drive it in the basement family room all week. Todd arranged the boxes so he has a circle track. He hasn't put a dent in a wall...yet. We ended the party with Max's favorite, pizza, and another cake. He was so stinking cute with his cakes. Both times, he put a lot of thought in his wishes. He has kept his secrets though, and I still don't know what he wished for. It was a fun day, and I'm so thankful that we have such a sweet boy in our home. He's always ready for kisses and hugs and stories. He was tested at preschool the next day and it just amazed me that he knew all his stuff. (Too bad the kid has to wait another year for Kindergarten. He's ready now.) He loves playing trucks, Mario Kart, and doing preschool worksheets. Dang, he's just plain fun. Guess what Max? I love you!!

  1. Wow...I am surprised that I am the first one to leave a comment, What does no one else leave comments. Both Kache and Kassidy were sitting right next to me while I was reading the blog post, they both wanted to see all the pictures. I am so impressed with the 'Cars' cake, I would never be able to make something like that. Maybe one day Kassidy will be making cakes like that, but not me.
Hopefully after Sunday night there still are no dents in the walls from the four wheeler...LoL
It looks like Max enjoyed it all.
