Sophia's Soiree

Today was Sophie's birthday soiree (fancy word for party). We had a lot of fun planning her Fancy Nancy party and spent the morning cleaning and decorating. All her guests dressed "fancy" for the occassion. As they came in, Kiarra and Zac greeted everyone with a top hat or feather boa.

The only quiet moment. I had some coloring activities for the quests to do while we waited for everyone to get there.All the fancy party goers!Trevon having a go at "Pin the Tiara on Fancy Nancy"Pinata time! We ended up with a faulty pull-string pinata. But I don't think too many kids cared. They all ended up getting sugar. We also played a game called "Fancy or Plain" where the kids had examine several items and tell me which things are plain and which things are Fancy. We played Fancy Bingo and also made door knob signs. It 's just a little hard to run the show and get photos too.After all the games and activities, we made parfaits (fancy word for ice cream sundaes).Todd and his fan club!Sophia has such sweet friends. They all spoiled her with "Tres Magnifique" gifts! Thank You!

Just after Sophie's friends went home, Grandpa and Grandma Campbell and Aunt Anne came for dinner. The kids even got Grandpa and Grandma to go a little fancy!

She got some more fun gifts including some fun dress-ups and plenty of art supplies to keep her creating for a long time.

We had a quick dinner before Todd headed back to the ER. And yay, Sophia finally had a chance to make her wishes on a full-sized cake. She had blast running around the house with all her friends and said she had one of the best days ever. Me? I had fun even though that feather boa got a little itchy. (If you've read the books, it was my intent to be Ms. DeVine.) All is well now that the kids are in bed, I have my Dt. Mtn. Dew at hand with a Vitamin I (ie. Ibuprofen) in my system.
