A few weeks ago, Zac earned his Arrow of Light. This is his last big Cub Scout award. He's earned all the pins he can in WEBELOS and now he's just assisting his den leader and waiting to turn 11 in November so he can move on. Zac has loved cub scouts and is always thrilled to do more and earn more. We're proud of you Zac!
Kiarra also went to girls camp in July and had a great time. Of course she came home grumpy and tired. Her friend, Morgan, came home with her because her family was still out of town. Both girls claimed to be "just fine". I think this picture proves differently. Kiarra was snoring away even with Morgan's arm flung across her face. They didn't even stir when the fash went off in the room. Both girls slept 'til about 10:00 the next morning.

I drove the kids out to Altamont. We participated in some of the Longhorn Days festivities including the fun parade on Saturday. (Yes, for those of you that have heard about it before, this is the famous parade that goes down main street then turns around and comes back. Twice the fun...twice the candy!) Grandpa and Grandma had offered to take the kids for a few days. I left the kids there and came home for four very quiet days. I spent time working in the garden, helping my sister move to a new classroom, scrapbooking, reading and reading. Todd and I also took advantage of the quiet and went on a date too. So very nice! Thanks Grandpa and Grandma!! The kids came home with all sorts of stories about how much fun they had.
Maleke and Zac tag-teamed the last of it. The going got tough, but these boys got it done! Thanks to the kids, (ok, and Grandma), we adults enjoyed some good ice cream!
Looks like fun, sorry we missed out, than again 4 days at home.... dang! We really did think of y'all that weekend as we sat home doing nothing!
