Wheat and Beet Days!

Last weekend was Garland's annual Wheat and Beet Days. We participated fully! I had been wrangled into helping prepare the float for the Bear River Valley Royalty. So...Todd volunteered as well and drove the float for me on Saturday morning. It probably helped that he got to drive a new truck with great scenery in the rear view mirror. Sophia and Max rode with us. Kiarra and Zac were invited to ride on the fire truck with their friends. It was a fun parade and because everyone was busy in the parade, I didn't have to pick up candy wrappers around the house for the next week.
Later at the park, the kids entered Speedy, the turtle, in the pet show. The same royalty judged this show. Speedy won the "Ninja Turtle" award because he showed off for the judges. He rolled over from his back to his feet. Sweet!

The kids had fun playing at the park for a couple of hours.

In the nice full heat of the afternoon, the Tremonton and Garland fire trucks pulled up to the stake center ball field for the best water fight ever. There was water EVERY WHERE! (hence, the distant photo) The fire department even let the foam fly. Tons of fun! That night we sat out on our deck and watched the fireworks. Ahhhhh.... nice summer day!
