Good Bye Spanish Fork

Well, since this is our last week living in Spanish Fork, the kids and I thought it would be fun to put together a little photo gallery of what we think is special about Spanish Fork or what we'll miss about living here. (Of course I'm already planning the scrapbook pages for each kids' book.) Here's just a little bit of what we love about this town:
The mountains we can view from the front porch.
We love driving by the monument for the Icelandic Pioneers that settled Spanish Fork. President Hinkley dedicated this monument shortly before we moved here.

We've spent A LOT of time at the library. We also love the park behind it in the summer time. The windmills...the kids have loved driving by these at the mouth of the canyon. The pond at Canyon View Park that is stocked with trout all summer. The kids learned to fish here and the city allows kids under 12 to fish without a permit all year.Krishna Hindu Temple. We think it's a beautiful building and we love the llamas grazing around the temple. The reservoir above Spanish Fork. A little man-made beach on one end and fishing on the other (like the pond, stocked with trout and free for the kids).East Meadows Elementary! Great teachers and a fabulous school!Hawaiian Style Shaved Ice (ok..Kathy, not sure if it's true Hawaiian style). Anyway, we love the best shaved ice around and look forward to this little stand opening every summer. Usually there's a line...but worth the wait.

The mega Sports Park with it's 8 baseball diamonds, grass areas for soccer, pavillions, playgrounds and tennis courts. (And they're still expanding.) In a town obsessed with baseball and softball, it's a must. We've spent MANY hours here.

If you squint, you might see the kids waving good-bye. They've loved living here and although they're excited for the future, we're a little sad to leave all the good places and good people behind. (Alright...I'll quit procrastinating and go pack some more boxes.)

  2. Looks like a great place to live. I must say I am jealous of you having the mountains so close.

Good luck with your move. I don't envy all the work you have ahead of you! You are moving to Tremonton or somewhere close to there right? That is where Michele Welling was from. Do you hear from anyone from Ricks? Every now and then I hear from Sarah but I have lost touch with everyone else. Sarah got married last summer but that is the last I heard from her.

  4. It's always hard to leave a good location although I'm personally glad you're moving closer. Let me know what help you need this weekend.. Sue said she was taking your kids.

  5. Megan, we're moving to Garland, just next to Tremonton. Todd will be working in Tremonton. Lynette, I forgot Michele was from Tremonton. I know where a couple of people are from Ricks. You, Cindy Thompson, the Chandlers and the Lloyds and my old roommate Shana (whose actually here in Utah now). I hadn't heard from Sarah in a couple of years. That's great new about her marriage.
Emily...we'll be unloading on Monday afternoon. It's going to be easier to move without the kids under my feet..although Kiarra and Zac are actually pretty good helpers. I'll give you a call! :)
