Halloween Fun

It was a crazy week here at our house. Todd is still trying to figure out how such a small holiday gets so out of hand with school parties, costumes parades...etc. Our school district also threw in Red Ribbon week (anti-drug campaign) ... so every day was a dress-up day. Due to my new calling in the primary presidency I was also busy running around town getting things ready for a Daddy/Daughter dinner. I am so glad to have the week done. I think the kids had fun, but mom went crazy and should have dressed up in a straight jacket for Halloween. Here's our highlights:
The kids look forward to being "hit" by the Halloween phantom every year. Someone leaves a goodie for you and the next night you have to leave a goodie for two other neighbors. What a great excuse to doorbell ditch! Kiarra and Zac take it seriously and here they are all ready for their covert mission.

Pumpkin carving went a little quicker this year. Usually the kids try to do intricate patterns but the pumpkins were way too thick. For the first time in about five years, we just had cute simple jack o'lanterns.

Kiarra and Todd at the Daddy/Daughter party for Activity Day girls. They had a mystery dinner where they had no idea what they would get to eat. We also had a pumpkin painting contest. Kiarra had a great time... I think Todd did too.

Halloween night and ready for treats... a storm trooper, an Hawaiian dancer complete with the "coconut bra" Sophia requested we find for her in Hawaii, a race car driver (don't tell Max it's actuallly a pit crew costume) and a mad scientist. Everyone picked their own costumes and there was no changing anyone's mind.

At the ward trunk-or-treat. I love trunk-or-treating... after 40 minutes we're finished and home where it's warm with enough candy for all.

Zac with his friend, Wyatt. Today the kids are still trying to wind down from the extra sugar and late nights. Hope they can stay awake in school tomorrow.

  2. The costumes turned out great and it looks like your trunk-or-treat went well. Now onto the other holiday festivities!
