Whew...What a Week!

I think Kiarra was in 3rd grade when May became a dreaded month. It hasn't gotten better, only more hectic as the years go by. From what I gather from mothers of older children than mine, it's only going to get worse. May becomes pure survivial to get from one event to another. I consider May to be actually more stressful than all the holiday craze of December.

Last week was one of the busiest...with the coming week not looking much better. Monday was fairly calm with one chaotic dance rehearsal for Sophia. Tuesday was her first dance revue. She was so excited. She's wanted to perform since her first dance class. She did very well and performed three times...ballet, tap and jazz.

Wednesday was more madness. I got to go on a fishing fieldtrip with Max. We went to a trout farm in North Ogden. It was so much fun to just spend this one-on-one time with Max. He was SOOO anxious to go. And even though I had to take all the fish off the hook, at least the staff at the farm cleaned them for us. Whew! Max caught 8 before I made him stop. We grilled the trout for dinner and Max was very proud that he had provided dinner.
After our trout dinner, Zac was dropped at baseball practice and the rest of us went to see Sophia's Kindergarten program. She sang loud and clear and again, was happy to be performing.
Sophia and her excellent, patient teacher, Mrs. Anderson.

Thursday--(no pictures) Kiarra and Sophia were my guests at the Garland Civic Club Mother/Daughter dinner. I joined the club in December. They are great group of ladies that do a lot for our small community. The girls and I had a fun time and a yummy dinner.

And finally, on Friday was Kiarra's Breakfast of Champions. This is a special treat for the kids at Kiarra's school that showed academic excellence. Breakfast was at 6:15 am at the school for both the student and their parents. (and yes, I managed to drag myself out the door to be there... Kiarra doubted I could do it.) Anyway, there was breakfast, speakers and awards. Kiarra got a large medal because she had shown excellence for all three trimesters. Way to go Kiarra!

Maybe all this craziness is just a plot to get parents excited about summer break. Although there'll still be a lot going on... at least it will be at a somewhat relaxing pace.

  1. Wow you guys are crazy! I guess that gives me something NOT to look forward to in the upcoming years. Kuddos to being a great mom on the trout thing, I may be able to pull them off the hook, but there's no way I would have cooked or ate them for dinner!

  2. I loved all the fun pictures of your kids. I am glad to know that I am not the only one that forgets to take pictures of activities like the civic club Mother/Daughter. I love the picture of Max his expression is great while he is standing with the pole in the water next to the pond. What a great little fisherman he is.
