The kids were so excited last week when they discovered this nest in a tree in our back yard. We think, from the quick glances at the mother, that they are Robins. The mother doesn't exactly have the sharpest beak in the sky and built this nest only 4 feet off the ground. The kids would not leave it alone and checked on the "chicks" almost every hour. Sophia was even trying to feed them leaves, which the blind little birds would clamp onto in anticipation.

Sadly though, all the rainstorms last week destroyed the nest. The mud it was built with fell apart, and it looks like they fell during the night. From evidence left behind, it we think a neighborhood cat (or two) had a feast that night. It's been pretty sad because we were all getting attached to the naked little things.
Wow, Kayla! It is great to hear from you! It is such small world! So weird how you found me! But glad you did. Your kids are super cute, what a cute picture of your little Max. So Garland? Closer to Cache Valley. I don't know if we will ever be even in UT again, but we are happy and doing well. Again, I am glad to be found and so happy to hear from you.
